My research paper journey has surprisingly not
had to many challenges. This is
surprising because this is my first actual research paper. I think one of the main reasons my research
has gone smoothly is because my topic about Facebook is very largely talked
about in todays society. However, this
was also a bad thing because it was difficult to find an original claim. It took a lot of thought for me to figure out
a research gap. I finally realized no
one has studied himself or herself and made that my original claim. I found that most of the surveys could be
inaccurate because the students taking them could be in a rush or not
care. I think that other researchers
studying Facebook will be interested in my claim because they can see and
individuals personal study and compare it to the research they have done in
large groups. To make things easier next
time I am researching I will be more organized when finding articles. I saved the PDF form of all the important articles
I found but I did not title them correctly.
To make it easier to look back at articles I should of put a title on
them. Instead I had to open up every
article to find the one I was looking fore.
Before I turn in my project I need to add a few details to my
claim. I feel that what I’m analyzing is
not long enough. When writing my
analysis I found it difficult to write 900 words and all I could add was
unnecessary details. I need to think of
another research gap to add to my claim in order to make it more extensive and
important in the conversation. Another
thing I will do to make my research easier for the next paper I write is not procrastinate
as much. Its was interesting to me that
I was writing a paper about how Facebook effects schoolwork and I was still
getting distracted by it. It is ironic
that while I was writing my paper I was also collecting my data about how much I
was on Facebook. The way I was getting
distracted was also proving my claim about the negative effects Facebook has on
schoolwork.
